To the Farthest Shores

b8fd191a671a6b60b477f6a1618dbfa0Army Nurse Jenny Bennett has lived a hard life. Determined to put the past behind her she focuses on her job and hopes to gain a promotion. The sudden reappearance of Lt. Ryan Gallagher changes her life yet again.

Ryan Gallagher is one of a few who are able to carry out a certain mission. One that destroyed his reputation and the heart of the woman he loved. Now, returning years later, he not only cannot tell Jenny what happened, but he needs to ask for her help in his current assignment. Will she be able to put past hurts behind her, though? And when a threat to Ryan’s life becomes apparent, is it even safe to be near him? Does she want to be near him? Does she have any trust left in him? These are many things Jenny needs to face.

This was a very well-written story. The characters were developed nicely and my interest in their lives and the story as it unfolded was kept. I enjoyed the history that Ms. Camden incorporated into the story. There was enough to draw me in and hold my attention without becoming overwhelming. And I can’t not mention the cover art. I love it. It is so beautiful.

No Other Will Do book review

7e670ebe156eb26ac7703066812ba85f  Emma needs help. She knows she can trust Malachi for the job, but can she trust him with her heart?

Emma Chandler has set up Harper’s Station, a safe haven for women in need. No men allowed. However, when a dangerous assailant continues to threaten the women Emma is forced to ask for help. The only man she trusts is Malachi Shaw, an explosives expert and a friend she has not seen in a decade. As danger intensifies, Emma must make a decision. Stay and fight, risking her life and anyone with her? Or claim defeat and run?

Karen Witemeyer, as always, has quite a cast in this story. Everyone has a part and they play it well. The story flows nicely. I liked the mix of determination in the characters, the mystery, the bits of humor, the relationships between everyone. I am looking forward to her next book.

A Duke’s Promise book review

background- http://www.woophy.com/forum/12_2562_3.htmlLady Alexandria is so close to finding her parents. The latest clues are sending her to Italy and the marble caves of Carrara. Gabriel, Duke of St. Easton, is with her now, by her side as they race against time and enemies- old and new ones. There are dangers on all sides and Alex and Gabriel must learn to work together or risk losing everything.

This story has kept my glued to the pages since the very beginning with The Guardian Duke, through The Forgiven Duke and as the story came to a close with this book. A Duke’s Promise starts right where The Forgiven Duke ends. It is filled with grand adventures (a hot air balloon!), friends and enemies (sometimes you’re not sure who is on what side), and very determined people (for good or for bad). I was happy with how the story came to a close. Jamie Caries made quite a build-up with two previous books and I was really hoping I wouldn’t be disappointed. I was not! This was a great ending to a great trilogy.
