The Separatists book review

fd76dab7733038ba7c01dc72836cc2fb

BREAKING NEWS- NORTH DAKOTA HAS SECEDED FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, CAUSING A CHAIN REACTION OF OTHER SECESSIONIST GROUPS TO FORM IN OTHER STATES.

News journalist Erica Sparks is right there capturing every moment of this historic event. This is the biggest story in a very long time. If these groups are successful in separating from the USA, a second civil war could be declared. How far are these groups willing to go? And when Erica uncovers more and more, the stakes are raised to a very dangerous level.

Lis Wiehl did an exceptional job in taking me behind the scenes of Washington and journalism. Her ‘Newsmaker’ series keeps me riveted, as if I really am watching a true news event unfold. I was glued to the pages of this story the same way I would be glued to the TV if this really was happening. And that ending? Goodness! What more could happen??

*I received this book free from Thomas Nelson and The Fiction Guild in exchange for my personal honest review. I was not compensated in any monetary way.*

My star rating- 4 out of 5 stars

Parental Guidance- I would rate this book a PG13 due to Intense Scenes and Adult Situations

The Vote is Being Cast

Good Evening, Friends,

I am taking advantage of the internet being on and posting Friday’s topic, what I am reading. I will admit, when I grabbed this book from my Review Books pile I was skeptical. This is not a book I am usually drawn to. This is not a topic that sucks me in, but Lis Wiehl has done just that! The book this weekend? The Candidate. It is book two in the Newsmakers Novel series and I have not read the first book yet, yes, I admit I pre-judged the series thinking I would not like it (Shame on you, Kym! Tsk, tsk.). However, thanks to a review copy sent my way, I have been shown the error of my ways. Lis has a way with words, she has a way with pulling me into the lives of journalists and politicians, and how far some people will go to get what they want. I am looking forward to telling you more about my thoughts on it when I post my review.

What about you? What are you reading this weekend?

Peace,

Kymberli
